Apparently, this is a Muslim student getting tazed at UCLA, 5 times. The story has spread like wildfire across the Internet. I’m going to side-step the war on Muslims issue today, you are already well aware of my stance on that through many prior posts, like “United Kkkingdom” so relax!
It makes for disturbing viewing, but not because of the police violence per se, because let’s face it, we are all familiar with how much American police love to abuse power. There have been many instances of police Tazer use/abuse posted on YouTube.
And of course, the student is relatively unharmed at the end of it. If he’d not experienced much pain in his life (and I’m not suggesting that’s the case), then a shock from a tazer would cause him to freak out. So if it’s not the police brutality, or the pain inflicted on a human being, then what exactly makes it so shocking?
I think it’s the fact that these young people, some of America’s finest, whatever that means nowadays in that God-forsaken hub of Evil Empire, stood around meekly and asked for badges and numbers, in an institution that once creadled activism.
It’s great that there’s a video record, but it rather remind me of that incident in a British pub where a woman was being raped and men were recording the attack on their mobile phones, but couldn’t be bothered to use the same devices to place a telephone call to the police.
What should have happened, is that those students should have beaten those policemen to a fucking pulp. They should have been stomped on until their heads split, and then fired from their jobs and disgraced forever, once they’d recovered from rightful administration of student justice.
Remember Rodney King? Sometimes, the only civilised answer to abuse of power, is massive violence.

My biggest anger at The Bushtard is that he has almost succeeded in destroying my non-violence ideology. I would still not engage in violence, but damned if I will hold back my involuntary whoops of joy if he gets what’s coming to him.
Fucking ridiculous man. But you what, in the way things are now a days if you stand up for something you are not sure what it would lead to. I am certain that a number of people who may have thought of helping the guy would also have thought if he is involved in some terrorist activity or something.
Sad but true.
I am glad you’ve highlighted this case Shahid. I saw it earlier on Alex Jones or some other site. This obviously isn’t the first case of some person being treated like an animal by the uniformed gits who prefer using the tazers. From what I recall, I’ve read the cops tazer people in wheel chairs, the elderly and even kids. It is beyond sick.
Because it happens so often, and they get away with it, it is rapidly becoming a norm. Unfortunately, this sort of treatment will only increase in number because the press and even human rights orgs can’t be buggered with these cases.
The UCPD released a statement yesterday afternoon, in which spokeswoman Nancy Greenstein explained: “This is a longstanding library policy to ensure the safety of students during the late-night hours. The CSO [community service officer] made an announcement that he would be checking for university identification. When a person, who was later identified as … Tabatabainejad, refused to provide any identification, the CSO told him that if he refused to do so, he would have to leave the library.
“Since, after repeated requests, he would neither leave nor show identification, the CSO notified UCPD officers, who responded and asked Tabatabainejad to leave the premises multiple times. He continued to refuse. As the officers attempted to escort him out, he went limp and continued to refuse to cooperate with officers or leave the building.
“The officers deemed it necessary to use the Taser in a ‘drive stun’ capacity. A Taser is used to incapacitate subjects who are resistant by discharging an electronic current into the subject in one of two methods: via two wired probes that are deployed from the Taser, or in a ‘drive stun’ capacity by touching the subject with the Taser. In this incident the student was not shot with a Taser; rather, officers used the ‘drive stun’ capability.
“The entire incident is under investigation, and a case will be presented to the City Attorney,” Greenstein concluded.
They should have just carried him out then, shouldn’t they? He wasn’t violent, so tazing him so many times was just evil.
I am not sure what to make of this. The student obviously did not co-operate in the security check and maybe I can understand the stand the security guys took. But to taze him 5 times was unnecessary. As far as I know once is enough to subdue anyone. It is excessive use of force by any definition.
I would however like to know why Tabatabainejad refused to show his I.D? Was it because he was the only one asked to show it? But then even if this was the case, who gives a bleep bleep about racial profiling any more.
Everyone has a rigt to object to harassment. Why did the police ask him för id and not everybide else in kibrary. Mayby it was or wasent becouse he is an arab. The real question is how torture has become accepted even on colledge ground. UVCLA students should ban police that use these method from the university.
Not sure what to say about this. I am in CA and have attended US schools so let me tell you the guy was clearly wrong. You can not simply abuse Police; the guy could shout with all power but simply could not understand the simple command to standup. They say it here “The quickest way to get kill is to kill cop” and LA police has been always under so much stress. The law and order is not ideal as compared to other parts of CA. Then but police misused their power and I am sure they will pay if they found out guilty. They simply can not get away.
I rather find your blog some times quite annoying when you patronize every event like US Vs Muslims. Could you imagine any one abusing police like this in Pakistan ?? No one is perfect and we have some stupid people here too but I know that if cops were found guilty, they would pay and that makes me calm.
Mind it, I am Muslim from Karachi, Paksitan but I can not simply close my eyes from facts like you.
This is what happens when you give steroid packed meatheads guns & badges…..Imagine your school prefects/bullies packing .357 S&Ws!
While I appreciate your sentiments I’m not sure that any attempt at delivering ‘student justice’ on these Colt totin’ red-necks would have resulted in anything other than fatalities! When you corner that sort of rat…..!
All the Best

Dear Andrew, you’re probably right.
“What should have happened, is that those students should have beaten those policemen to a fucking pulp. They should have been stomped on until their heads split, and then fired from their jobs and disgraced forever, once they’d recovered from rightful administration of student justice.”
my thoughts exactly, I spent most of the video being angry and looking for things in that library to hurdle at the pigs
I’m having a hard time understanding why people think the police officers were at fault or where they induced the observation he was the victim of racial profiling. Other than the use of what some might say is excessive force, and even that is subjective, its evident that the student was in the wrong by not showing his id when asked. Yes, some might be asking, how dare they request, several times, that a student, who happens to be muslim, to produce the required id to be given the privelege of staying in the library, which is the standard fare for all students. However, I will inform you this: the student was infact a Bahai(yes those happy devils that themselves are oppressed in every muslim country for bida), not a muslim, so theres no point in displaying basic tribal loyalties that automatically put you on the side of the, muslim, victim or not.
The police officers clearly ask the moron, yes a goddamed moron, to stand up many times, even before they first taser him, which the ‘victim’ refused to comply with.

Alot of people aren’t driven to violence because they think they are right.
