Indeed. It does look very much like the Gellar Gemilang (Malaysian flag). I am curious as to why it it flying. I was even more curious as to how the black (cloth fold) line in the origional vanishes in the ‘blow-up’ until I realised it was actually a second picture. So I get back to why was the flag there?
This is a trivial question perhaps, but I like a bit of trivia every now and again – helps keep the independent conspiraloonary within me well honed. The photo is taken facing south (with a hint of east) yet the Malaysian embassy is to the South West, at least 1Km away, so unless the Malaysians have teh worlds biggest flag and have secretly moved their embassy…
The building flying the flag is likely to be at is at the corner of Kennard road. Yet I dont know of any building there that would find the need to hoise the Malaysian Flag. Sadly I am only poorly familiar with London, so can anyone tell me help solve my trivial curiousity here and tell me what building it was(is?), flying the flag??
LOL! I did mention that “it’s from a different frame” but I mixed up my media there. I’m much more used to video than photography and should have just said “another shot”
I think that’s Malaysia House… (Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board)
I used to go to Trafalgar Square when I was a kid because there were lots of places like that promoting Canada, Australia and the like. (Canada House, Australia House etc.)
That’s how we learned about different countries in primary school…we went out and got the info before compiling our project. Now it would take a word processor and 15 minutes of google – nowhere near as much as fun and certainly not as tactile!
Heheh. Thanks.
Malaysia house? I didn’t know that. Oh well. I have a friend in the Malaysian Ministry of tourism. The Lucky boy gets to ‘audit’ Malaysian tourism places all over the world. I’ll have to ask him how on earth Malaysia could afford such prime estate.

God bless America!
That’s what I thought. But I zoomed in and was surprised. Take a look at this:
It’s from a different frame, but it was a clearer image of the flag. We’re looking at it from behind, but it looks like Malaysia to me.
What a superb photo!
Malaysian Flag = Funniest ever!!
don’t show it to any neocons – they’ll wet themselves
on 2nd thoughts…
Definitely the Malaysian flag.
People stop fixating on the flag! Look at the bird smack dab in the foreground…. perfect timing to click this photo.
