The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact, non-Westerners never do.

Not that the West’s ideas are bad. But if you don’t agree with them, they tend to get upset.
Reporter: What do you think of western civilization?
Gandhi: I think it would be a good idea.
though I’m with DE on this one. It’s not so much the ideas that are at fault, more the way some of us westerners have chosen to try and finish the argument
This is what really pisses me about Westerners especially Brits, Australians, North Americans, West Europeans – if you don’t agree with their beliefs, they hate you. They expect you to kiss ass and when we try to uphold our culture/tradition it annoys the crap out of them. Whenever I speak in Hindi with my Indian colleagues in presence of Westerners, they give us looks and stares as if ‘what the fuck’. We’re not supposed to speak anything which does not resemble English!!!!!
Get off your high horses and LEARN about the non-Western world. Always Remember WE are the numerical majority on this Earth-the ancient civilizations of India, Japan and China, the distinct Islamic cultures of North Africa and the Middle East, the enigmatic South-East Asian countries, the emerging Central Asian republics, the entire African continent. Even the countries in Latin America do not follow strict Western culture and have LOT MORE respect for us.
Developing countries should increase trade and commerce among themselves and STOP looking at the world through Western eyes and Western media. And yes, Fuck BBC and CNN and their one-sided propaganda.
There is a disturbing reclusiveness and ignorance about Britain (I’ve never been to America and can’t comment on it). Instead of being curious about culture in Asia and Africa, they tend to be xenophobic, intimidated and prejudice. Or worse, they feel above it and expect people to treat special because they are white.
I think it all stems from arrogance – our country is the greatest, everyone everywhere wants to live here, the richest, the most free and the most civilised. Everywhere else is a stereotype.
I won’t debate with facts and figures but I went to Malaysia last year and we stopped to eat at a cafe in a busy street when nearby a businessman removed his shoes and curled up went to sleep on a large bench. This would never happen in any western country, such is the paranoia, distrust and breakdown of morality. I do genuinely think the West (namely UK & the US, I have been to various other EU countries and they are not like us at all in this department) is unhappier and more fractured than the countries they look down upon.
I realised I’m generalising immensely here but for the most part I feel it is true. If you are curious, I am writing from the perscpective of a half Chinese, half English, Brit.
